Charitable gaming refers to bingos, raffles, and a variety of other games of chance being conducted for charitable purposes. This guide contains information about charitable gaming in South Dakota.

South Dakota Charitable Gaming License

Not required



Charitable Gaming licensure is not required on the State level in South Dakota.

There is no state level licensing for games of chance in South Dakota, however, charities must provide written notice to the county or municipality where the game or raffle is held at least 30 days prior to the event. In addition, if a charity conducts a statewide lottery, the secretary of state must be notified in writing.
