Registration requirements for New York business entities
Business entities that plan to use a name other than their legal business name may need to register an assumed
name. Assumed name registration can take place at the state, local, or state and local levels of government.

| Agency Fee: | $25 for LLCs and limited partnerships. Corporation fees are $25 + $100 for each county within New York City and $25 for each county outside of New York City. |

| County Level Filing: | Sole-proprietorships, general partnerships, and limited liability partnerships file at the county level. All other entities file with the department of state. |
